Starting in September 2010
The Brant Aquarium Society will host a Bidders Auction at the regular meeting. For this auction, each seller in the auction will be given their own auction sheet to include all of their auction items. The items will be auctioned off (bids start at $1 and increase $1) The highest bid wins the item.

The Brant Aquarium Society holds an auction at every month's General meeting. The auction takes place at the later half of the meeting.

Brant Aquarium Society Auction Rules
The split of the final auction selling price of an item for Club members is 15% to the club and 85% to the Club member. For non-club members the split is 30% to the Brant Aquarium Society and 70% to the seller. The item must have a Auction Sheet filled out and placed in front of the item before the meeting starts. The items allowed are fish and the aquarium hobby related. The form the must be signed by the seller (in line 1 of the Auction sheet) prior to the meeting starting for the item to be entered at the auction. This form is available at the meeting. You agree that the Brant Aquarium Society cannot guarantee the accuracy of the auction items description and will not be held responsible should an item die or does not function nor can it be held responsible for loss of any item in the auction. Minimum bids for an item must be written both on the item and indicated on the auction form. Should a fish or an item not be sold at an auction the seller may reclaim the item at the end of the auction.

A few tips to remember
#1 bring extra bags in case your bagged fish spring a leak.
#2 it is often easier for the buyer if you write what type of fish that you are selling on the bag using a marker that is not water soluble.
#3 always check for leaky bags prior to the auction beginning.
