2013 Spring Auction
On Saturday April 6th the Brant Aquarium Society will hold its Spring Auction and Show at the TB Costain/ SC Johnson Community Centre. This event is our major fundraiser to support the operation of the society.
If you would consider donating something that we could auction off to raise funds, we in turn would publicize you and your products at the auction.
The TB Costain/ SC Johnson Community Centre is located at 16 Morrell Street, Brantford, Ontario.
Please note that this years event takes place in BRANTFORD, ON at the TB Costain/ SC Johnson Community Centre, where our monthly meeting take place.

Auction rules
General
1.1 Auction Registration starts at 8:00am. Auction will begin at 10:00am.
1.2 ALL auction items will have a minimum starting bid of $2.
1.3 BAS is not responsible for the health, function or usability of any items in the auction. BAS offers no guarantee that items in the auction are healthy or usable or functions as described.
1.4 All sales are final.
1.5 The Auction is CASH ONLY. No Cheques and no debit. No tabs, Buyers must pay cash for any item they win upon receiving the item.
1.6 The split for the auction is 30% to the club and 70% to the seller.
1.7 BAS reserves the right to amend these rules as needed at any time. Neither BAS nor the auction site will be held responsible for any loss, damage, or injury incurred before, during or after the auction.
1.8 All rules will be strictly enforced. Those items not adhering to the rules will be rejected and removed from the auction. The auction chair has the sole and absolute authority over the interpretation, application and enforcement of the rules.
1.9 During auction, all decisions of the auctioneers are final. The auctioneer is the only person who chooses the winning bidder.
1.10 Any unclaimed items become the property of the Brant Aquarium Society.
Auction Seller Rules
2.1 Sellers are not limited to number of items but must fill out a sheet for every 20 items. Sellers must register with the BAS Representative before the start of the Auction. Once the auction has started, sellers can register but must place all items on the final table. No tanks over 25 gallons are allowed in the Auction.
2.2 BAS will provide each seller with Adhesive labels for every item. Sellers are responsible for affixing these labels to their items and ensuring that the labels remain on the items during the auction.
2.3 Sellers are responsible for correctly filling out all auction forms and tagging each item with a brief description of the item and a minimum bid, if desired.
2.4 It is the responsibility of the seller to place all of their items on the tables correctly. A 20 table system is used. All tables are labeled 1 thru 20. The item number determines where the items are placed. Item# 01 are placed on table 1 and so on. PLEASE see the chair if there is a question as to the location of an item. Any item that is placed on the wrong table (i.e. item 07 on table 1) will be held until the end of the auction.
2.5 Proper bagging of fish is required. Only plastic bags normally used in the fish trade are allowed. Zip-loc or resealable type bags are not allowed. Larger fish can be placed in a pail with a lid. Seller must re-bag any leaking bags.
2.7 Sellers are expected to receive their portion of sale at the auction. They can at any time after their last items has been entered into sales system, but must do so before the items of table 19 have started selling. NO cash outs will be done during the selling of tables 19 and 20. Cash out will resume after all items have been entered into sales system.
2.8 Payment may be mailed after the auction. If seller chooses to not pick up payment at auction. Sellers will receive payment by mail, at seller’s expensive ($2 will be subtracted from your total). Cheques can be picked up at the April General meeting (no charge).
2.10 Any item that is deemed unfit, by the auction chair or other BAS reps will be removed from the auction.
2.11 Any unclaimed items become the property of the Brant Aquarium Society.
Auction Buyer Rules
3.1 Bidders will be given a bidder's ID for help in identifying them. (There are no tabs)
3.2 ALL winning bidders must pay for the item upon receipt. Exact change preferred, but change can be made. CASH ONLY.
3.3 Upon receipt of the item it is the bidder’s responsibility to ensure the safe keeping of the item.
